Featured Business Q&A with Alana Ogurcak
What is the name of your business?
Lake Breeze Wellness
How long have you been in business?
What type of services does your business offer?
Massage Therapy, Nutrition Services, & Yoga
How did your business come about? What made you choose to open your business?
Massage therapy combined with my interest in human anatomy & holistic health. I graduated from the University of Rochester with a degree in Health & Society in 1999. Shortly after, I attended the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage in 2002 graduating in December of that year. When I began my massage career, I rented space at Tangles on Culver Road. Eventually, I wanted to grow my practice and opened Lake Breeze Wellness in 2012 as a dedicated space for relaxation & well-being.
Why choose Irondequoit for your business’ home?
I love Irondequoit! I was at Tangles on Culver Rd for almost 10 years, so when I decided to expand and open my own business, I knew that I wanted to stay in this wonderful community.
How many employees does your business employ? Are any local Irondequoit natives?
Lake Breeze Wellness does not have any employees, but is home to two other independent businesses. Real Nutrition by Crystal is owned by Crystal Flores. Crystal is a registered dietitian offering nutrition counseling to her clients. Kasia Pelepko, RYT offers private yoga lessons at Lake Breeze Wellness. In addition, Kasia teaches larger group classes through Now Yoga & Movement at Assisi Yoga. All three of us are proud Irondequoit residents.
What do you want potential customers to know about your business?
We are dedicated to providing a relaxing and supportive environment to improve health & well-being. Our services are helpful to all ages – we serve children, elderly and everyone in between. Most of all we love sharing our skills & expertise with others.
What community service has your business been involved in? What organizations do you support/donate to?
We donate to Irondequoit Community Cupboard & Sunset House. These wonderful organizations are such an asset to our community. We are grateful for all they do for others.
And we thank you for all the donations you have made to our Chamber events.
Are there any events you are hosting you wish to tell our community about?
No events in the near future but we look forward to offering yoga classes outside on our patio next Spring/Summer, when the warm weather returns.
