Congratulations to Tony and Kathy Proietti as the Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce recognizes 2 Ton Tony’s Pizza as our newest Featured Business!

by Josie Weber

2 Ton Tony’s has been part of family pizza nights for almost 11 years.

The Proietti’s local pizza shop has been a staple in the Irondequoit community.  Beyond traditional pizza you will also find other great favorites at 2 Ton Tony’s including breakfast pizza, plates and even ice cream.  Having a party? No problem! They have you covered with their catering menu as well.

“We serve the freshest high-quality pizza, wings and other food to our community”, says Mr. Proietti.

2 Ton Tony’s is located at 545 Titus Avenue near Hudson Avenue. When we asked Mr. Proietti why he chose Irondequoit for his business he replied that it was, “an unbelievable opportunity”.  Mr. Proietti’s family also had a business back in 1965 that was nearby their current location.

This family-run business also includes 40 employees – most of which are from Irondequoit.  This comes as no surprise as the Proietti’s have continued to be community focused.  Over the years 2 Ton Tony’s Pizza has sponsored scholarships and supported non-profit organizations including but not limited to Irondequoit Community and Andrew’s Food Cupboards, The Sunset House, House of Mercy and Rotary.   You may have seen the Proietti family walking to support breast cancer or ringing bells for the Salvation Army. Maybe you have even been part of one of their annual holiday parties.

While all that the Proietti’s have done for our community is appreciated, it is the 2 Ton Tony’s Pizza Pixie program that has taken off and gained traction on social media.  At the height of our pandemic front-line workers were receiving visits from the Pizza Pixie reminding them that they were appreciated.  We especially love the heart shaped pizzas!  The Pizza Pixie Program most recently recognized hard working teachers as well as parents and students navigating the stresses of remote education.  While businesses all over are experiencing financial hardships, 2 Ton Tony’s still finds ways to give back.

This year 2 Ton Tony’s will be part of the Hometown Holiday Stroll coming up on Saturday, November 8th so be sure to check them out.  In the meantime you can call and place an order at 585-266-8669, find them online at www.266tony.com or follow them on Facebook.
