The Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce is pleased to recognize Wendy's Restaurant of East Ridge Road as the featured business of the month for August 2015.

Generations of Irondequoit area families have enjoyed burgers and Frosties at Wendy's, which opened in Irondequoit in August 1979. The restaurant was completely rebuilt in 2005.

Aside from offering quality food at an affordable price, Wendy's is also busy supporting the community. “Every week we have something going on,” says manager Mary Menge of the restaurant's many donations and fundraising support for local athletic and academic programs:

  • Beverage and Paper Product Donation Program is open to non-profit organization fundraisers, sports teams, and school events;
  • Wendy's Community Night Fundraiser Program for non-profit organizations and teams benefits groups by donating a percentage of an evening's proceeds;
  • Read to Succeed Program provides Frosty coupon bookmarks to library, school, and daycare centers' reading programs.

Wendy's of Irondequoit also prints the Irondequoit Community Cupboard's annual mailing—that organization's largest fundraiser.

National programs include Wendy's High School Heisman Award recognizing scholar athletes from around the country. The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption is America's only national nonprofit charity dedicated solely to finding permanent homes for children in foster care.

What happens inside Wendy's is special, too. The crew at the Irondequoit location proves daily that they are always ready to provide great service for a steady stream of customers. Regulars visit Wendy's a couple times each week, says Ms. Menge—they come for the friendliness as much as for the food.

“Our success has a lot to do with the longevity of our managing crew, and we all do the best we can to provide a good product as fast as we can,” says Ms. Menge.

Wendy's continues to build community and customer loyalty in the competition among quick service restaurants. Beginning this fall after school begins is Wendy's Kids' Fun Night. Every Tuesday after 4:00PM Kids' Meals will be $1.99, plus crafts and activities from 5:00PM to 7:00PM.

Wendy's Restaurant of Irondequoit is located at 1175 East Ridge Road, and is open seven days a week, 10:30AM to 12:00AM.
