Irondequoit Chamber member Megan Flanagan Mills, owner of Farmers Insurance Flanagan Mills Agency, is on the Board of Directors for Borinquen Dance Theatre, a Rochester not for profit that cultivates leadership skills and teamwork through training, structure, cultural education and positive role models. BDT celebrates its 35th anniversary this year with a special event on April 16.
Evolution: 35 Years of Borinquen Dance Theatre takes place at 7:00PM on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Hochstein School of Music & Dance, 50 N. Plymouth Avenue in Rochester.
“I believe strongly in the mission of Borinquen Dance Theatre, and, as a former ballet dancer, I think the arts are extremely important to the lives of our young people," says Mills, who is the Chair of the 35th anniversary event. BDT offers a diverse range of youth, many from economically challenged families, the opportunity to develop and practice discipline through the mental and physical training afforded by a rigorous holistic dance program.
Sponsorship opportunities are available by contacting Megan Flanagan Mills. Tickets are on sale at borinquendancetheatre.org/35anniversary (Adults $20, Students/Seniors $10).
“Farmers Insurance agency owners and corporate employees are very involved in their communities throughout the country. Supporting Borinquen Dance Theatre is one way I personally like to give back to the community." Mills is in her third year on the organization's board, and Farmers Insurance Agency is a Diamond Sponsor for the 35th Anniversary event.
