Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce celebrates our Annual Person of the Year & Beautification Awards

The Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce was pleased to announce that Carmen Santora had been selected as our Person of the Year. The award was presented at the Chamber's Annual Awards Dinner on January 25, 2019, at I-Square. Santora has been a resident of Irondequoit for over 50 years supporting his local community. Santora served as a member of the Town of Irondequoit Zoning board for 7 years and has served as the Executive Director of the Better Contractors Bureau, a 400-member consumer protection agency serving Monroe County and the five surrounding counties since its founding in 1974. He served on the board of directors of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, was the former President of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), is a mediator and arbitrator for the Center for Dispute Settlement. He taught continuing education classes at the Webster and Greece School districts on home improvements, hosted his own radio show called “From the Ground Up" on WHAM radio and has been featured in many national trade magazines.

The Beautification Award Winners are:

Best New Building – Imaginarium at I-Square, 400 Bakers Park.

Best Renovation – Tuxedo Corner, 2040 East Ridge Road.

Best Landscape- Seabreeze Amusement Park, 4600 Culver Road.

Best Re-Purposed Building – The Reidman Health Center- Rochester Regional Health, 1455 East Ridge Road.
