Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce Announces 2012 Person of the Year and Beautification Awards Winners

Holiday Celebration Awards Dinner on Saturday, December 8th at 6:00PM

Irondequoit, NY, November 15, 2012 –

The Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that David Shaheen, President of R.C. Shaheen Paint and Decorating Center located at 1400 St. Paul Street, has been selected as the 2012 Person of the Year. Mr. Shaheen was nominated for his ongoing service to the Irondequoit community where he serves on the Board of the Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce, is an active member of the Irondequoit Rotary, immediate past Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus, and has served on the Town Planning Board. He is a graduate of Bishop Kearney High School and continues to support the school’s development efforts. David resides in Irondequoit with his wife of thirty years, Beverly, and is an active member of the St. Kateri Parish and a member of the church music ministry.

The Irondequoit Chamber will also present the following Beautification Awards:

Best New Building – LA Fitness, 1600 East Ridge Road. Sue Compitello, Manager, will accept.

Best Renovation – “Mediterranean Building” at 4364 Culver Road in Seabreeze. Tom Clicquennoi and Larry Young, building owners, will accept.

Best Re-Purposed Building – AutoZone, 920 East Ridge Road. Michael Wells, Hub Manager, will accept.

Best Landscaping – DiVincenzo Bakery, 1716 Portland Avenue. Debbie Botsis, owner, will accept. DiVincezo Bakery was also the Irondequoit Chamber Business of the Month in April 2010.

The awards will be presented on Saturday, December 8, 2012, during the Irondequoit Chamber’s Holiday Celebration Awards Dinner at the Rochester Yacht Club. Tickets to the Holiday Celebration are available from the Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce by calling 585-234-1884.
