February 11, 2013 -One day ahead of their monthly luncheon, the topic of which is the new town library proposal, the Board of the Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce today released this endorsement statement in support of a new central library in the town of Irondequoit:
“The Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce recognizes that a 21st century central library will offer the types of valued services and amenities that attracts home buyers, retains homeowners, and keeps the business and spending power of residents in the Irondequoit community.
Therefore, for the good of our merchants and the good of our residents, the Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce endorses this long overdue plan to improve our town with a new central library.”
The Chamber Board encourages all Irondequoit merchants to participate in the public process by attending one of the upcoming information forums in the Broderick Room at the Irondequoit Town Hall:
Wednesday, March 6 at 6:30 PM
Tuesday, March 26 at 10:30 AM
Wednesday, April 10 at 6:30 PM
The taped forums are also being aired on I-CAT (Cable Channel 12), can be viewed on the Library’s website, and DVDs of the forums will be made available at each library branch.
The Chamber Board further encourages all Irondequoit merchants to plan on casting their ballot at the Referendum Vote on Tuesday April 23rd,
East Irondequoit School District residents will vote at the Ridge Culver Fire House 2960 Culver Road 14622
West Irondequoit School District residents will vote at the St. Paul Fire House 433 Cooper Road 14617
Times to be announced for voting polls opening and closing.
