October Road Rally raised money for local charities

Irondequoit, NY, December, 2012 –

The Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce together with the Irondequoit Police Department presented a check in the amount of $675.00 to the Irondequoit Community Cupboard on December 5, 2012. The funds were raised during the Sixth Annual Road Rally and Barbecue held in October.

Cupboard Founder and President Debbie Evans accepted the donation from Bob Spatola, Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce Board President, Greg Goater, Board Member, and Chief Richard Boyan and Officer Jim Reed of the Irondequoit Police Department. Many other Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce Board members were also on hand for the event.

Evans said that the donation comes at a critical time for the Cupboard as they prepare to serve 218 local families with Christmas baskets. Of that number, 124 are families also receiving Christmas gifts and 85 are senior citizens also receiving gift stockings.

The Irondequoit Police Department community education fund and the Finger Lakes Regional Burn Association also received donations from the Road Rally.
