The Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce hosted their first ever Charity Miniature Golf Tournament on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Whispering Pines Miniature Golf Course at Parkside Diner. Over $2,700 was raised to benefit The Sunset House, a local hospice located in Irondequoit.
The community gathered at the nations oldest miniature golf course for golfing, dinner by Parkside Diner, drinks, and both auction style and 50/50 raffles. Many generous Irondequoit community members and businesses came together to sponsor holes and donate raffle items for the event. The best prize however may have gone to the team in final place who received the "Plunger Award".
"We couldn't have asked for a better evening for this event", said Chamber Administrative Assistant Nicole Shopp. "Everyone seems to be having a great time".
Do to the success of the evening, the Irondequoit Chamber hopes to add the Charity Miniature Golf Tournament to their list of annual events they host each year. Chamber events can be found online at irondequoitchamber.org/events or through their Facebook page.
