On February 4, 2016, the Irondequoit Public Library released an accounting of library usage between the September opening and December 31, 2015.
Highlight statistics include a 26% increase on items loaned and a 34% increase in visits.* The Library's more than ten meeting and study rooms have also experienced a high level of usage.
Just three years ago, the Chamber announced its support of a new library with this endorsement:
“The Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce recognizes that a 21st century central library will offer the types of valued services and amenities that attracts home buyers, retains homeowners, and keeps the business and spending power of residents in the Irondequoit community.
Therefore, for the good of our merchants and the good of our residents, the Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce endorses this long overdue plan to improve our town with a new central library."
