TOWN OF IRONDEQUOIT PROUD TO PARTICIPATE IN

SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY ON NOVEMBER 26TH

Irondequoit Supervisor Dave Seeley today encouraged residents to join him in participating in "Small Business Saturday" this weekend and patronize Irondequoit stores

Now in its third year of promotion, “Small Business Saturday", the day following what we've all come to know as the busiest shopping day of the year or “Black Friday", is an effort to get consumers to understand the significant effect their local spending has on their community. The phrase “Shop Small" has, in turn, emerged as the phrase used to increase awareness of this effort. What began as an effort to encourage shoppers to spend locally is now a nation-wide phenomenon and opportunity for small businesses to work together to help each other.

“Taking part in Small Business Saturday is a win-win for residents, businesses and communities," said Rich Orcyzk, President of the Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce. “Contributing revenue here in Irondequoit means reinvesting tax dollars right here at home, and that's the key to a healthy community."

“I encourage Irondequoit residents to “Shop Small" not just one day, but every day", Supervisor Seeley said. “Our Town is blessed with shops and stores that have the perfect gift for even the hardest family member to shop for. I'm a proud "Small Shopper" and look forward to seeing our Town supporting all of our great small businesses on Saturday".
