Each year the Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce hosts several signature events that our members and business community can look forward to.  Many of these well attended events are available for sponsorship.  Learn more about these Signature Events below:

Annual Awards Dinner 

Held each January, the Annual Awards Dinner celebrates our Person(s) of the Year along with outstanding local businesses across four award categories. Each year, the Annual Awards Committee meets to nominate and select recipients based on established criteria for each award—except for the Customer Service Excellence Award, which is proudly chosen by the public.  

Person(s) of the Year Criteria:

  • Must be an Irondequoit resident
  • Must have demonstrated an outstanding level of service that has made a difference in the lives of others
  • Must be an active member of the chamber (Exception: Non-profit or first responder groups)

Award Categories & Criteria: 

New award categories will be honored starting at our 2025 Annual Awards Dinner.  These categories aim to celebrate the people behind the places and reach all types of members.


Emerging Business Award

  • Started business less than 5 years ago
  • Must be a chamber member
  • Shows support to the local community

Customer Service Excellence Award

  • Nominees are brought forth by committee members
  • Must be a member
  • Public , positive customer service feedback

Site Beautification Award

  • Site must be in Irondequoit
  • Location changes can be to building or landscape or remodel
  • Changes should increase the value of the property and town overall

Legacy Award

  • Business that has been around Irondequoit with a rich history
  • Chamber member preferred 
  • Business should have contributed to the success of the community over the years.

State of Irondequoit*

Each year the Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce invites our town supervisor to come update our guests on what is happening around our town

Joe Genier Student Scholarship Luncheon

Each May the Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce hosts a luncheon to award scholarships to a student from each Irondequoit High School.  Scholarship winners are future business majors, leaders and entrepreneurs chosen by the school's administration.  These scholarships are made possible by generous donors.  


J. Genier Charity Mini Golf Tournament 

Started by the late Judge Joe Genier, each September we host a Charity Mini Golf Tournament at Whispering Pines to benefit the Sunset House.  The event includes mini golf, dinner, drinks, raffles, and networking.  


Meet the Candidates* 

In October we bring together the candidates running for local offices to speak to our community.  The meet and greet event includes food and non-alcoholic beverages and time for networking as well. 

Comedy @the Carlson

This yearly multi-chamber event is always a hit!  We partner with other local Chamber of Commerce to put on a networking event full of food, drinks and comedy!  This is one you don't want to miss.
