Irondequoit, NY — For 45 years, Tuxedo Corner hasn’t just helped people get dressed—it has helped tell their stories.
That story began in 1981, when founder Lester Kaszuba opened the doors to Tuxedo Corner with a simple vision: provide quality formalwear with a personal touch and treat every customer like family. What started as a small, family-run shop built on hard work and dedication quickly became a trusted name throughout the Rochester community.
Lester’s story is one rooted in service—both to his country and his community. An Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War, he brought the same discipline, resilience, and commitment he learned in the military into his business. Beyond the shop, Lester has long been an active member of the Irondequoit Rotary Club, dedicating his time to supporting local initiatives and working with charitable organizations throughout the area. That spirit of giving back became a cornerstone of Tuxedo Corner’s identity.
From the very beginning, the business was a true family effort. Long hours, hands-on service, and a commitment to doing things the right way helped shape Tuxedo Corner into more than just a store—it became a place where life’s most meaningful moments begin.
Today, that legacy continues under the leadership of Lester’s son, Craig Kaszuba, who carries forward the same values his father instilled over four decades ago. With deep roots in the business and the community, Craig has helped guide Tuxedo Corner through changing styles and generations of customers—while keeping its heart firmly grounded in family and service.
Inside Tuxedo Corner, generations have grown up together. Young men who once stood nervously preparing for prom now return years later for their weddings. Fathers who were once fitted for tuxedos now stand beside their sons, sharing in the same milestones. It’s not uncommon for customers to walk in and be greeted with a sense of familiarity—because this isn’t just a shop, it’s part of their family history.
“We’ve been fortunate to be part of so many important moments,” said Craig Kaszuba. “My father built this business on relationships, service, and trust—and that’s something we’ve worked hard to carry on. Seeing families come back generation after generation—that’s what 45 years really means to us.”
As highlighted in a past Democrat and Chronicle RocRoots feature, the family-driven approach behind Tuxedo Corner has always set it apart. That dedication to personal service, consistency, and craftsmanship continues to define the experience today. While fashion has evolved over the decades, Tuxedo Corner has remained a constant—offering tuxedo and suit rentals, purchases, and expert in-house alterations to ensure every customer looks and feels their best. Through changing trends and an ever-shifting retail landscape, the business has stayed true to its roots: quality, care, and community.
To celebrate 45 years, Tuxedo Corner is inviting the community to join in with special promotions, in-store events, and an opportunity to share their own memories and milestones. “This anniversary isn’t just about us,” Craig added. “It belongs to every person and every family who has trusted us to be part of their story.”
As Tuxedo Corner looks to the future, its mission remains unchanged—to continue serving the Rochester community with the same dedication, craftsmanship, and personal connection that began with Lester Kaszuba in 1981.
